Stacy Turner is a native of the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. She graduated from McAllen High School, where she was a member of the McHI Band, German Club and participant in UIL competitions. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches for two years and then returned to the Valley to complete her BS in Mathematics and Statistics at Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas.
Following graduation, Stacy Turner worked as a computer programmer in McAllen, Texas. Desiring more interaction with people, she pursued a career in the health care industry and found that she enjoyed optometry. Dr. Turner graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry with honors in 1988. While in school, she worked as a teaching assistant in General Optometry and Contact Lenses and received several clinical letters of recognition. In addition to her license to practice optometry in the state of Texas, Dr. Turner has additional licensure that allows her to treat many eye diseases, including Glaucoma.
Dr. Turner moved to North Dallas in 1989. She began practicing at EyeMasters in Plano in 1990. In 1998, Dr. Turner and Dr. Renee Campbell founded Lakeside Vision and Optical in Plano, Texas. After Dr. Campbell retired, Dr. Turner continued seeing patients at Lakeside until April 2015 when she sold her majority interest in the practice to her business partner. In June 2015, Dr. Turner found an ideal location in McKinney, Texas and designed, decorated and furnished the new facility with the most advanced diagnostic instruments, starting with highly experienced eye care personnel. New eye care facility, Eldorado Vision & Optical, opened in October 2015 for families living in McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, Allen and Plano, Texas.
Dr. Turner has earned Diplomate status with the American Board of Optometry, a designation awarded to Optometrists who demonstrate competence beyond entry level skills. By obtaining ABO certification, committing to extra hours of continuing education each year, and ongoing examinations to maintain status, Diplomates declare their lifelong commitment to quality patient care.
The challenge of solving individual patient eye health problems and satisfying patient’s needs are enjoyable endeavors to Dr. Turner. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, and the Northeast Texas Optometric Society. Dr. Turner’s extensive experience treating adults and children, her dedication to excellence in eye care for every patient, and her patient-centered approach to treating each patient as an individual worthy of her undivided attention embody the practice’s motto, “Setting the Gold Standard in Eye Care”.
Dr. Turner, her husband Alan and son Niall live in Plano, Texas. They attend church at Frisco Bible Church in Frisco, Texas. Dr. Turner’s free time away from her practice is beach and travel with her family. Her love of the beach is reflected in the decor at Eldorado Vision & Optical.
